Anniversary weekend in Hot Springs, AR

Hot Springs, AR

Day 1

Eric and I decided to celebrate our 1-year anniversary at the Lookout Point Lakeside Inn located in Hot Springs, AR just a few hours from Memphis. After work, we made the drive and arrived at about 10 pm. Robin, the night-time innkeeper set us up in the "Birdsong Room" and we settled in for the night.

Day 2

This morning, we woke up to an overcast day which made it very pleasant for August in the South. The view from our balcony was unbelievable. It was so relaxing to drink coffee and watch the multitude of birds eat breakfast at all the feeders.

Later that morning, we had an appointment at the Chrysalis Day Spa for a couples mineral bath & massage. Afterward, we had lunch at Fisherman's Wharf which is located on the lake with outdoor seating on a covered dock open to the water.

We then returned to the inn to enjoy the afternoon happy hour and relax.

The grounds were beautifully landscaped and the atmosphere at the inn was so soothing. Everything felt secluded and private even though there were houses on each side of the property.

The inn's pontoon boat can be booked for tours around the lake as well as private sunset cruises.

Day 3

We had booked a lake tour on the pontoon boat today but it was cancelled due to rain...ALL DAY. I can't complain, though. It was just more time to relax. We spent the day watching movies, reading, and lounging around. We didn't even leave to eat dinner but opted for soup and sandwiches from the inn's kitchen.

Day 4

Time to head back home. We had such a relaxing time here. One of the most peaceful places I have ever been. We will definitely have to make plans to return.
